SALATHIEL , also known as Shealtiel. He is not a major figure in Israel’s history except that he was the father of a famous son Zerubbabel, who led the Jews back from exile in Babylon in 536 BC. The fact that Salathiel is mentioned can remind us of the important role parents have in nurturing their children in matters of faith and and teaching them the virtue of courage, which his son undoubtedly possessed.
